Rising Star Competition Team
Our “Rising Star” Competition continues to be a great success and we are happy to continue it in the 2024-2025 season! Our “Rising Star” team is for dancers in grades 2+ who would like the opportunity to compete without the intense requirements of our elite team. This team will compete in the novice/intermediate level at 3-4 competitions next season. We will have a jazz/musical theatre team and a tap team in each of the 4 levels as well as a contemporary team for our Rising Star IVs. Dancers can choose to compete in either one or multiple genres.
Class Requirements:
Jazz/Musical Theatre team:
Dancers must enroll in either a ballet/jazz class, jazz class or a musical theatre class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below.
Rising Stars I - grades 2-4:
Tuesdays 4:15-5:15 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)
Tuesdays 5:15-6:00 (ballet/stretch class)
Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-7:
Mondays 6:45-7:30 (jazz/musical theatre competition class)
Mondays 7:30-8:15 (ballet/stretch class)
Rising Stars III - approx. gr. 8-10:
Thursdays 8:00-8:45 (jazz/musical theater competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 7:05-8:20.
Rising Stars IV - approx. gr. 10-12:
Wednesdays 8:00-8:45 (jazz/musical theater competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 5:35-7:05.
Tap team:
Dancers must be enrolled in a tap or tap/hip hop combo class from the regular fall schedule. In addition, they will be required to attend the “Rising Star” competition classes listed below:
Rising Stars I - grades 2-4:
Tuesdays 5:15-6:00 (ballet/stretch class)
Tuesdays 6:00-6:45 (tap competition class)
Rising Stars II - approx. gr. 5-7:
Mondays 7:30-8:15 (ballet/stretch class)
Mondays 8:15-9:00 (tap competition class)
Rising Stars III - approx. gr. 8-10:
Wednesdays 8:25-9:10 (tap competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 7:05-8:20.
Rising Stars IV - approx. gr. 10-12:
Mondays 8:20-9:05 (tap competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 5:35-7:05.
Contemporary Team:
Rising Stars III - approx. gr. 8-10

Tuesdays 7:45-8:30 (contemporary competition class)
Dancers must also be enrolled in the Wednesday ballet/lyrical class 5:35-7:05.
We will be aiming to compete in 3-4 locally held dance competitions. These are generally on a Saturday or Sunday (occasionally a Friday night) and will begin around February/March.
This is a great opportunity and learning experience for the girls. Team members build lasting bonds and learn a sense of commitment and working together. Self-esteem reaches a new level as does their desire to learn. My teachers and I are looking forward to working with you and truly hope you will enroll in the class.
